Review: A Good Girls Guide to Murder (No Spoilers)

Hey people. You may know that recently I read Killjoy, the prequel novella to the series, and I realized that I need to review the actual series, so here we are. I'm just doing the first books because this book is literally Chef's Kiss. First off, the book is a solid 5/5 start. This book IS perfection. I don't care who comes after me, but this book was good.

In this book, the town Pip lives in is known for a murder. The murder of Andie Bell. She was killed by her boyfriend, Sal, who then killed himself out of guilt. This is what the town and pretty much everyone thinks. But Pip thinks that Sal never killed Andie and is out to solve who really killed Andie Bell for a project for school. She translates this mystery with Sal's brother (Ravi Singh).

This book is perfect for numerous reasons. First off, the characters! Ok. Pip is literally the complete nerd character we all needed. Her imperfections make her relatable and not one of those perfect main characters. Some think her personality as annoying, which she was at the beginning of the book, but her personality growth and development was significant to see throughout the book. And don't even get me started on Ravi Singh. Oh my God he is so amazing. "SARGE," AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.  His ravishing quote is the highlight of the book. Ravi is such a mood and I am glad to see him in the books. He keeps this book light hearted at times, which is absolutely amazing. Also, as a brown, South Asian girlie, I was so happy to see a brown character in this book. This is the type of diversity we need. Like, we don't need the fact you are being diverse shoved in our faces. Just something normal.  In this book, we also have the supportive besties, the annoying besties, and the one person we hate most. You can read the book to find out who I am talking about.

The book's plot was also well thought out and easy to follow. I usually never try my hardest to figure out the whodunit and just hang out for the ride, also known as the book's plot. The ending was satisfying and good. That's all I can say about the end without spoiling the complete thing.

ALSO, I am so excited about the AGGGTM tv show coming out. I have been watching Holly Jackson's Tiktok on loop, and I am so happy for the episodes that should come out soon. Based on what I have seen, the castings are great, and honestly couldn't have seen better castings. With Emma Myers as Pip, I know she will do a great job. Besides, Jackson is hyping up this show so much that it HAS to be good. I pray that it is good.

Anyway, that's it! Happy reading!
